The original Strike Saver Planer Board release is designed for lighter use such as stick baits and spoons that can be held in the aligator release clip.  Strike Saver offers a heavy duty model that has a Dubros release and lag hook that will handle flashers and dodgers, lead core line and even inline weights out away and well behind the boat.  Check out both to make sure you have the model to meet your needs.  Both have the patent pending "lag line hook" that keeps a tight line on the fish the moment it strikes....no matter how far out to the side you have your board or ski and how far back behind the boat you have your line and lure.  This makes a Strike Saver Planer Board Release the fisherman's choice for more fish in the boat.

The Strike Saver Planer Board Release will eliminate lag line and provides you with control of your fish…its keeps the hook set – keeps the line tight. The patent pending release mechanism uses a rubberized alligator clip to hold the fishing line, connects onto the surface planer board line and slides out to the desired distance from the boat toward the board or ski. Along with the release clip is the unique Strike Saver “lag line hook” mechanism so that when the fish strikes and the line is released from the holder it catches the Strike Saver “hook”, maintains a tight line and immediately begins to move along the planer board line toward the boat as the fish pulls on the line. You have the rod and are playing the fish as soon as it strikes. The fish can pull out line and you can reel, adjust the drag and have fun catching the fish.
