We designed this "White" Strike Saver release without the "Lag Line Hook" so it can be stacked below a red or green downrigger release and won't tangle a line when a fish strikes and it begins its return to the surface.  It dives and returns like the red and green releases, can be placed at any depth along the downrigger cable by reeling it up or letting out line to lower it to a desired depth.  It is the most versatile downrigger stacker on the market.

Planer Board Release "Original"
The Strike Saver Planer Board Release will eliminate lag line and provides you with control of your fish…its keeps the hook set – keeps the line tight. The patent pending release mechanism uses a rubberized alligator clip to hold the fishing line, connects onto the surface planer board line and slides out to the desired distance from the boat toward the board or ski. Along with the release clip is the unique Strike Saver “lag line hook” mechanism so that when the fish strikes and the line is released from the holder it catches the Strike Saver “hook”, maintains a tight line and immediately begins to move along the planer board line toward the boat as the fish pulls on the line. You have the rod and are playing the fish as soon as it strikes. The fish can pull out line and you can reel, adjust the drag and have fun catching the fish.
